Yesterday "the missionary" was able to leave work a little early for a couple more appts. and things that have deadlines to meet.
He is NOT liking that I am taking pictures along this process, so I just do my best to try and capture the moments to share with our family, and also for us to hold on to these memories.
.
Someone told me today, to cherish every moment, and not let all the details of ALL that has to be done blur my view of watching him and being with him along this journey.
Great advice! It would be easy to get caught up in all the details... there are many. But I really enjoyed being with him today, even though we were very much feeling the "hurry up and wait" syndrome.
.
So our first stop...
FBI clearance for his visa application includes finger printing.
It was a very secure and official looking little room in the transportation department. A very busy time; Tuesdays at 2pm (who knew?), we were there an hour and 45 min...
and sweating to make it to his shot appointment at 4pm in the next town, in afternoon traffic.
A pretty cool process, it's all digital... which is annoying because he has to pay for express mail both ways at $18.00 an envelope to get the clearance back. And everything he mailed in could have been sent electronically. Maybe one day they will figure all that out and save these missionaries some money.
We did make it to foreign immunizations on time.
Sneaking pics... some are hard to get, I wish I would have been a little farther back on this one. I don't remember watching him get shots when he was little (I probably couldn't), he just closed his eyes (that's what I do) and looked so peaceful.
It was hard not to feel my heart pounding in my chest watching him get shots for Yellow Fever, and Typhoid! Somehow, NOT calming for an already anxious mom.
But more "stuff" checked off of his hurry now list.
