Letter from the Mission President...

President Horacio D. and Sister Madariaga
The missionary got his 1st letter from his mission President today.
This will be the couple he reports to when he arrives in Paraguay, they are from Argentina.

Jacob was first very impressed by the envelope.... his first stamp from Paraguay.  "This is a keeper Mom"... yay!!! he is my boy, he will probably save lots of cool things for me to make some memory books for him.
And he loved that the church's logo was in Spanish... "um get use to that dear heart"!

He shared the letter with us, it was so very sweet!
I already love them!!  You can tell the Lord is preparing them for our Jacob!

(lots of sweet thoughts and good information for Jacob... here is just a small piece to share)
Six Principles if followed will lead
to a successful and honorable mission

1) Be obedient and stay worthy
2) Work diligently, making the best use of every accountable minute
3) Love the people you serve, as well as the people you serve with (especially companions)
4) Treasure up the words of the prophets both past and present
5) Be prayerful and call down the powers of heaven
6) Be consistent in all tings; your prayers, studies, work habits and goals.
If you do these things, Heavenly Father has promised you great blessings (D&C 88:63-64).

He also shared some specific things about Paraguay, I will post have posted those in "The Mission" tab to read about. Very interesting stuff.

He sent a list of things he will need specific to his mission... helpful, but good and bad news.
The bad news... we thought we were about done shopping, but a few more things added to the list.
The good news... the mission packet stated 3-4 ties.  Jacob was disappointed, he wanted to bring lots of new ties.  He had to work through being "obedient" to the list and only picking out 3-4 ties.
The list from his mission president says 10-12 ties, woo hoo!!!
One happy missionary!!!
