Today Elder Dayley reports to the MTC...
We said all of our farewells at home, and took him to the airport.
He was all business at the airport (we call it "in the zone"), so pictures were not the priority. The lines at security were long, so he was just concentrating on getting his luggage checked in and getting through to his gate.
They said his debit card wasn't working, when he went to pay for his luggage, so he left with a big question mark about what was going on with that, but just looked at me and said "Mom, I know it will be fine". I came straight home and checked it out and he was right, I found out the error got it fixed in a minutes, and he shouldn't have any money problems, he just doesn't know it yet until he gets his first letter from home. But he didn't seem concerned.
He gave us one last wave goodbye if you look really close in the video, it was kind of behind the post. I had to stop and see it slow motion by frame to make sure I really did catch it on film.
We could see it in person well, so it will be engraved in my memory bank for the next two years at least.
He left very peaceful, and very excited and ready to get there, and serve! I am so happy for him, He has waited for this day for a very long time.
Now for us, the wait for his first letter home. We don't know what day will be his personal day (aka P-day) for letters at the MTC, but we will be anxiously awaiting the first one for sure, and will post something here when we hear from him!
Thank you to everyone for your love and support to get this missionary to this day. It has been so comforting and greatly appreciated to feel the outpouring of love for him.
