The last report we received from Jacob's Aunt who picked him up at the airport in SLC and drove him to Provo where they met his cousin (who he greatly admires, and served his mission in Brazil) and his wife and their new baby at PF Changs for lunch. I am sure Elder Dayley was thrilled for Chinese to be his last meal, it's one of his favorites. And I am just guessing he won't be eating much of that for the next two years.
Then they dropped him off at the MTC, where his "Host Elder" greeted him at the car pulled him out with a hand shake pulled into a big ol' hug and said "I have been waiting for you ALL DAY"!!
Aunt Patsy called us to let us know he was delivered and told us about the wonderful reception he had received.... and said at first she was just amazed at how friendly his host Elder was, then finally they shared they were friends from home and played on the high school golf team together. She couldn't remember his name, but sent us these pictures!
We knew immediately who he was!!! We had forgotten he would still be in the MTC and were so thrilled to hear of the hundreds of Missionaries dropped off that day, that they were united.
She said it all happened in a flash, and then they were off.
She actually had to call him back to say goodbye, he was soooo excited to get inside and get started on his new adventure!
I finally reached this Elders Mom and shared the story and photos with her. What a tender mercy from the Lord for everyone involved.
He knows us and LOVES us so much!!
God is good!!!!
