Hey everyone
Hows it going? Anything new happening? How Boise State doing?
The MTC is starting to blend into one big day... Its hard to believe that I
have been here for 5 weeks now... I just cannot wait to get to Paraguay... I
heard that our mission president challenges us to have a baptism a week or 104
baptisms... they also said that that goal was pretty attainable... When I heard
that my jaw dropped... It just makes me want to go to Paraguay that much
sooner...
Yesterday I was asked to say the closing prayer for sacrament in Spanish...
afterwards our Branch presidency said that my accent was really good and so was
my Spanish... I thought i butchered it hahaha...
Oh While I'm on the subject of butchering words... we were in a meeting
with Jorge(Investigator/Hermano V- our teacher) he had committed to baptism
the previous lesson and said that our next lesson he wanted to just ask us
question about church... so we invited Elder A- to be in our lesson with
us and pretend he was a recent member of the church... Jorge asked me "What goes
on at church, what do we do" I said "well we partake of the Sacrament which
allows us to renew of our covenants we made at baptism"
In Spanish the word For Sacrament is Santa Cena...But instead I said that
we partake of Satanas, which in Spanish means "Satan" After I had said that
Jorge just started busting up laughing and then i realized what i said and
started laughing as well... i had to explain to Elder B- and A- what I had said to him... hahaha fun times...
Right now we have 2 Investigators, Jorge And Hermano A-... A's family are all members and his son served a mission in Chile... Hermano A is very stubborn and our teacher plays a good roll of that...while we were
teaching him he kept nodding of and almost started to sleep... I kind of smirked
at Hermano R-s/ Hermano A- while he was doing that... soon as Elder
B- Started Reading the Scriptures, HermanoA- winked at me, smiled
and started to fall asleep again... so non shalaunlty I kicked his foot to wake
him up... knowing that (hermano R-) was messing with us... Afterwards he
told us that he taught someone like that on his mission and that was how he
really was... Not that he didn't want to listen to us... it was just that he was
tired all of them time.
Last night we were taught by Richard Heaton, Admin Director, of the Provo
MTC. He said that he was in a meeting with the prophet and all the members of
the 12... the Told him the missionaries need to teach the law of tithing more
effectively... So he talked to us alot about paying tithing and how we can
better teach it... he asked a few elders to come up and answer questions... one
question he asked was what will happen if we dont pay our tithing... Elder
T...(Tall African American only a member for on year... I talked about him
preciously) Got up to the mic and said "Well if we dont pay out tithing the Holy
Ghost might slap us up side the back of your head" hahahahaha so funny but
true.... When we dont pay our tithing we wont receive the blessings of the holy
ghost... Paying tithing gives us the blessing of us helping the church of Jesus
Christ to keep rolling forward on this earth...
Sorry I'm out of time I will finish with a hand written letter...
Thank you for the cookies mom
Did you get the pictures???
LOVE ELDER DAYLEY
