Just another day...

Hey Everybody
Well it was a very Feliz Navidad... Here in paraguay they just use christmas as an excuse to get drunk, from what all the members were telling us... they have all of there parties on the 24th and then at midnight they have there dinner with there families and do all that fun stuff... then on the 25th they just sleep all day... they dont really give presents or anything like that... they have a day in january called the three kings that they give presents to each other...

So Saturday and Sunday we had planned to go see our investigators and just about all of the members... saturday wasnt to bad we just had about two houses that werent home... but Sunday was the worst... everybody that we tried to go see was not home or too busy doing something haha our highlihgt of the day was seeing the peace core lady hanna in the street haha... but the people that we were able to see were very gracious in letting us in and talking with them...

(the story about hanna is that a very good friend of our family in Washington state has a grandaughter living in Paraguay, who went down with the peace corp.  He has been to visit her there, and told our family about how beautiful it is there, when Elder Dayley first got his mission call.  His granddaughters name name is Ann, or Anna is what he wrote down with her address.  Word got around to Elder Dayley and his comp. that there were Americans in town from the peace corp. and one of them was named Anna... he got all excited thinking "no way, could it be her?" and when they met her, they found out her name was Hanna, but they just don't pronounce their H's, so it sounded like Anna.)

For some reason christmas seemed like just another day of working...haha

Also this week we had changes...One of our zone leaders Elder P- went home (he was my first division) i remember working with him and he gave me some really good advice that i will never forget...he will be missed... every area in our district got changed except for ours...(only because i still have one more change in my training) 1 change down 15 to go...

This week we were planning a New Years party with Joel that we could Have for the ward... We were planning on having everybody bring something to eat or to drink and then we would just share it... So we were planning on bringing Empenadas de Dulce...(Last week Dori and Victorina Taught us how to make empenadas) So we decided to try something out that would blow there minds... an empenada is like a tiny tortilla with meat and eggs in it folded in half then deep fried... so we decided that we were going to make the tortillas with Dulce de Leche(like a carmel WAY GOOD) with bananas de oro(little golden bananas) and put that in the tortilla depp fry it and put brown sugar on top ... We told people what we were going to bring and all of them had this discusted face on hahahaha... they just dont know...so today we are going to Ñatona(our landlady/paraguayan grandma) and she was going to help us try it out...

Well it was so nice to be able to talk to you mom and dad...
I hope that you all had a Feliz Navidad...
Hoy en ocho (till this time next week)
Love Elder Dayley
