Hey everybody
Well today had to be one of the greatest weeks of my life... we had a
baptism for a lady in our ward named Mirta... and she wanted me to do the
baptism for her.... Mirta is about 55 years old and has (cant spell)
astioperosis and every where she goes she has to walk... she live out in the
lejo which is like the sticks...and to get to church she has to walk 4-5 miles
each way...MUY GUAPA (hard worker) and she has the best attitude about
everyting... its kind of hard to do things for her because she just wants to do
it all on her own which is cool... but we want to help...anyway at the baptism
we had to do it 20 mins away and so we rent a truck from this guy named donekano
who owns a farm and is now taking the lessons because he said he felt something
special at the baptism that he wanted to learn more about... so were going to
tell him about it haha... any way so we get most of the people in the truck and
then some people take there motos (mopeds or dirtbikes) to the baptism and so
when we get to the river all of the kids just jump out and start swimming hahaha
good thing its not a baptismal font haha...
when we got out to the middle of the
river she just starts to lean back... and i tried to tell her she couldnt do
that yet she had to wait until i said the baptismal prayer...she was like oh ok
ok esta bien laughing and then starts to lean back again...(i guess she didnt
understand my chuypara/spanglish ) chuypara is guarani and spanish mixed... so i
had to have some one else explain it to her haha...any way it went great and she
said "thats not to bad haha"
As everybody was leaving joelito Screams out LOUD "VIVA OLIMPIA" they are a
soccer team here and he loves them haha
So during the middle of the week Elder N- told me that i had to go
and buy a Machete...i asked why of course then he told me that i will find out
that next day... so the next day we went and picked up Elida and her Daughter
Christina and then went to mirtas house and wondering what i was going with a
machete Elder N- says were going to be cutting her grass :O...it actually
wasnt that bad i Had a lot of fun... it took a while to get the hang of it...
cause you have to get down low and bend your wrist a weird way when you do it...
but it was nice being able to do service for someone...Tell the youth not to
complain the next time they have to cut someones lawn...
(photo from Elder N-'s website taken earlier this season... but you get the idea of
having to machette cut the lawn... yikes!)
Also during the week Elder N- and i had lots of experiences where the Spirit guided us what to say we were teaching member and when we asked if she would go get her Book of Mormon we both sat for a second then looked at each other then smiled with out saying any thing turned to the same scripture that we were supposed to share with them.. and then it happened three more times with investigators

So on sunday Joel a really strong member here wanted us to come over for FHE and help him teach his family something special... joel used to be a Drunk rock and roll person... but when you see him and meet him you wouldnt think so hahaha but he his a guapo member and is like the branch president but since we dont have enough people to make a branch... there are no leaders really except for me and my comp... but joel and his family are members... but his wife blanca and there kids dont go to church(they want to) but when she was going to church her parents told her they would disown her if she ever went to church again... very sad situation...
so our lesson for FHE was on the Armordura de Dios...armor of god... and so
we made armor for Joelito (joel jr) to wear and put on as we were teaching them
hahaha so cute...
I know that this church is true... with out a shadow of a doubt... and i am
very grateful for the oportunity that i have to share it with the people of San Pedro even though almost all of them speak Chuypara to me i know that through
the power of the holy ghost the lord will guide me in what to say (Matt
10:16-21) that scripture is true and i have seen it first hand in my life... en
el nombre de JESUCRISTO amen
Con todo mi amor
Elder Dayley(which they can not pronounce to save there life haha my name
is Elder Nuevito or Newbie )
