Hey everyone
Well this week has been amazing... i dont think it could get any
better...
First I will start off with answering some of your questions because i have
been slacking on that part
Food- The food situation is asi asi (so so) they love there oil and they
put it on everything. 5 times a week we eat lunch at our dueñas(land lord) her
name is Ña tona and she owns a tiny resturant underneath our appartment and so
we eat there. we pay 100 mil every month and she takes care of us... the other
two times we eat at joels house with his family then after words we teach him
english... He is really good a it... he knew how to discribe what an electrical
engineer was off of my broken spanish and what i used to do for
work...hahaha
for breakfast we usually have a bowl of cereal or something... and we
hardly ever eat dinner... to busy and never hungry...
Soccer- we play soccer every other monday at our district meeting...
because were not allowed to play sports with the members... and its only every
other week because we are so far away from them that we only go to Santani which
is about 3.5 hours away....
Shoes- yep my shoes are doing good... ive seen other missionaries that have
the same pair as mine that have been out for about 18 months and theres are in
sad condition but still working and they only have one pair so i think i should
be fine...
Thats so cool to hear that janelle is going on a mission... i looked and we
should be getting home about the same time...haha
Well last sunday we went over to Juan and Elidas house to visit them
(members) and Juan saw my sunglasses and really liked them... elder Nielson said
that he found a pair in the house that we should give him... so those are the
photos of him with the sunglasses... it was his idea to do the signs hahahaha... and carries
them with him every where he goes now hahaha even if its dark...hahaha...
So about the subject... last week we called president Madariaga to see if
he could come out and visit some of the people out here and what not... He said
he would love too and la hermana would love to come with him too...so we set up
a time and day that he could come out... we decided thursday... so that tuesday
we had a little ward gathering and we started to clean the church and let
everybody know what was going on... we set up some visits for that thursday...oh
also president said that he wanted to have a fireside with the people there...so
that wednesday we visited all of our investigators and some of our less active
members to let them know and then called all of the members... we went to Hugos (14)(brother is a member but not active... he doesnt really speak
spanish, and prefers guarani... hes come to church every week that we have been
visiting him and now has a date for the 17th) we went to his house but wasnt
there... so we werent able to let him know about the fireside so we were really
bummed because we thought he would love it...
so when president got here on
thursday he brought some stuff with him...one was a package and the other was
some of my clothes...ok now that i have them i will tell you mom haha... i had
lost one of those vaccum bags and i thought it was stolen at the airport but i
guess i left it at the missionaries home the first day... it had most of my
garments some t shirts and my sweat pants... and so i only had 6 pairs of
garments...but i have all my clothes and im doing great...hahah sorry i didnt
want you to worry...
So then we went to Franciscos and visited him and we talked about
baptism... and we also set a date for the 17th... When president was talking to
him he shared a scripture about what we are sharing with him... i think it was
2nd nephi 32 1-4...and he put his hand on my knee and said that we were angles
and said that what we were sharing with him was true... That really hit home
cause i never thought about missionaries like that...but if president says we
are.....then we are....
we then visited some of the members in the ward...then after them we had a
fireside...about 10 min before it was going to start we see a kid on a bike
riding up...ITS HUGO he had a white shirt buttoned all the way up and tucked
in...he said that his sister told him the missionaries stoped by and said that
they were having something tonight...so he came...and participated in the
fireside..sharing answers and reading scriptures... so cool...after the fireside
president wanted to know who the kid was that was dressed so nice...and how old
he was and if he was planning on serving a mission... we told him that was one
of our investigators... and his jaw hit the ground...hahaha
we had a good turn out at the fireside about 30... hopefully that will get
the members pumped about doing missionary work...
the next morning we took president and his wife to go see where we have
baptisms...we got there and his exact words were
"Huh... wow... just like jesus then, right" hahahahahaha priceless
well i look forward to hearing from you soon
